ABOUT DWELL /

PHILOSOPHY

Philosophy
We have a confession to make – we love what we do and make no apologies about it. We want to see people living with good design – it is that simple.

Good design takes time. Great design is often drawn from inspiration, in-depth understanding and thought. We take the time to listen and understand your needs and wants for every given space, and finally to arrive at a concept and design that shows and serves how you live, work and entertain.

The process of making it happen, of course, requires more. The design phase, the renovation and fitting-out process will present challenges. Which is why we strongly believe that trust must be the foundation of the client-designer relationship. At Dwell, we work hard behind the scenes to earn and keep that trust.

Over the years, we have cultivated a close relationship with the best craftsmen, service providers and suppliers in the trade. This way, we ensure quality CONTROL, competitive COSTING and timely COMPLETION.

More than the projects we do, we also aim to build strong and lasting relationships with our clients.

ED ONG

CREATIVE DIRECTOR

“Talent is meant to serve.”

Founder and Creative Director of Dwell, Ed Ong, believes that good design exists to serve. “Design must respect and serve the needs and wants of the client, the surrounding environment, and culture.”

With a vision to grow Dwell into a global cutting-edge design house, he has seen the trends in interior design evolve over the years. "Across the world, commercial spaces are no longer just a place of work. They are where we actually live, work and even play – much like what a home is." There has been a blurring of lines between home and work spaces.

Ed is married and has two wonderful children. He credits his wife, who also runs The Kitchen Society, for his children's growth and development. "She's amazing with kids, so she is my advantage when it comes to my children. With the way I'm working, it's definitely not possible without my wife.”

An avid reader, Ed has his thumb in three to four books at any given time. "Chilling out for me is, ironically, hitting the bookstore and going through more design books."
